Product Description

Australis SuperTrim is an Ultra Premium innovative water based finish. A cross linking pure acrylic, developed to provide a durable, semi gloss, non-yellowing interior/sheltered exterior finish.

Areas of Use

AustralisSuperTrim is excellent for use on contact surfaces including door frames, window frames, walls, skirting boards, architraves, kitchens, bathrooms and laundries.

Method of Application

  • Brush, short nap roller or spray
  • Satisfactory with most equipment
  • Observe the State Spray Painting Regulations
  • Stir well before use using a broad, flat paddle in a scooping motion
  • Do not apply if temperature is below 10C or likely to fall below 10C during drying
  • Do not apply if rain is expected or in excessively hot, dry conditions

Coverage

Approximately 16 square metres per litre. (Coverage will vary depending on the profile and porosity of the painted surface).

Thinning

Water – Use up to 100ml per litre to aid application if necessary in hot, dry conditions.

Drying(25C and 50% Relative Humidity)

  • Dry to touch 30 Minutes
  • Recoatable 2 Hours @ 25C or 3 Hours @ 20C

Clean Up

Clean all equipment with water.

Surface Preparation

Prepainted Surfaces

Previously painted surfaces must be sound and have good adhesion.This can be checked by cutting an “X” with a sharp blade, press a piece of clear tape over the “X” as firmly as possible with the ball of the thumb then as quickly as possible, tear off the tape in one movement.If the previous paint comes off it must be removed before repainting.

Remove all soft, powdered, blistered, loose or flaking paint. Remove all traces of grease, dirt, oil or smoke using a suitable detergent. Wash with clean water and allow to dry Repair any cracks or surface defects with a good quality filler. Sand smooth and dust off.

Dust down and apply one coat of Australis PerfectPrep, followed by two coats of SuperTrim, sanding lighty between coats

Timber New

Sand to remove all graying timber. Fill imperfection with appropriate filler and sand all dressed timber. Dust down and apply one coat of Australis PerfectPrep when dry, apply two coats of Australis SuperTrim, sanding lightly between coats.

MDF New

Sand lightly, dust down and apply one coat of Australis PerfectPrep, when dry apply two coats of Australis SuperTrim, sand lightly between coats.

Brick, Masonry, Fibre Cement New

Ensure surface to be painted is free from mould, dirt, dust or any other contaminant. Fill imperfection with appropriate filler, sand down, dust off and apply one coat of Australis PerfectPrep. When dry apply two coats of Australis Super trim, sanding lightly between coats.

Note: Mould, fungal infected surfaces and efflorescence must be treated to eliminate the possibility of recurrence.
